Van Doorne advised Nexeye’s management on the sale of Nexeye to KKR & Co., as well as on the management’s reinvestment in the company. The transaction involved the sale of Nexeye Holding B.V., a leading eyewear and hearing care chain in the Netherlands, to KKR & Co., with Nexeye’s management reinvesting in the business. Nexeye operates under the brands Hans Anders, Eyes+More, and Direkt Optik in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
A notable aspect of this case is that Van Doorne supported 55 Nexeye managers throughout the transaction, requiring them to commit to the new deal structure on very short notice. The challenge was heightened by the fact that these managers were located across three countries (Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands). To address the needs of the non-Dutch managers, a Luxembourg entity was established.
