The Pieter van Doorne Fund Foundation in honour of our founder's legacy

Van Doorne’s 90th anniversary was reason to establish the Pieter van Doorne Fund Foundation in honour of our founder’s legacy. The Fund promotes sustainability and equal opportunities and, as a committed partner and with financial resources, supports organisations that pursue these same goals.

History

1 November 2020 marked exactly 90 years since Pieter van Doorne established himself as an independent lawyer in Amsterdam. Reconciling the irreconcilable, one of Pieter van Doorne’s talents, has become a mission. His original fundamental attitude from the 1930s has become the drive of Van Doorne lawyers, notaries and tax specialists of today. Not out of sentiment, not as an ode to the past, but because this basic attitude is proving to be extraordinarily effective in this day and age.

The current employees look back with pride on Pieter van Doorne’s impressive career, in which he strengthened people and organisations and built responsible and sustainable solutions together with them. All with an eye for society and talent development, diversity and inclusion. These values are still actively pursued today.

Partners, collaborations and activities

Currently, the Fund actively cooperates with four parties. The Fund supports War Child and the Plastic Soup Foundation by making a fixed annual financial contribution. In addition, Van Doorne N.V. makes office partners available to provide legal advice where necessary. We are also involved in activities such as World Clean Up Day and the Plastic Health Summit. Furthermore, the Fund supports the organisation Lawyers for Lawyers with an annual financial contribution, enabling them to help endangered lawyers to freely and independently perform their duties as guardians of the rule of law. Finally, the Fund supports the IMC Weekend School with a financial contribution. Van Doorne N.V. also makes office mates available to co-organise the Law course. In this way, we contribute to a better equality of opportunities for young people in the Netherlands. A report of the Fund’s activities in 2024 is included in the Standard Form of Publication Duty 2024.

Administrative organisation

The board of the Pieter van Doorne Fund Foundation is ultimately responsible for the foundation and determines how income is distributed. Board members receive no financial remuneration for their work. The board consists of the following members:
