Hugo served two terms as chair of Van Doorne’s board and holds various ancillary positions at both listed and non-listed companies and institutions. He has a large network and, as a lawyer, he combines extensive management and board experience with knowledge of and experience in strategy, finance, IT and employee participation. In January 2018, he was appointed chair of Tilburg University’s Foundation Board.

Hugo lectures on company law, corporate governance and boardroom dynamics. He writes books and columns on these topics and is a member of BNR Nieuwsradio’s boardroom panel. He is a frequent keynote speaker on governance and supervision.
