Saskia has 25 years’ experience in the notarial practice, having learned the trade in The Hague. Saskia specialises in the semi-public sector. She advocates a modern view of a civil-law notary’s duties: being a proactive legal advisor, in addition to providing traditional notarial services.
Saskia sees her work – as a civil-law notary, director and supervisor – as a remit to connect people. Bringing parties closer together, using the law as a bond. She makes an important contribution to equality of opportunity and diversity. In 2020, Saskia became Managing Partner, the first woman to do so in almost a century of Van Doorne. Three years later, she was named Legal Woman of the Year, with the judges noting: “Saskia’s leadership, marked by professionalism and feminine strength, has redefined the standards of excellence in the legal world.” Under Saskia’s leadership, with her characteristic unbridled energy, Van Doorne emerged from the corona crisis bigger and stronger. But above all, much closer, as a team. Everyone still feels relaxed and connected. With our remarkable profile: of a friendly leading law firm, committed to social causes. Saskia is the driving force behind this. It is amazing how she manages to get everyone on board every time.
