Van Doorne expands its partner group substantially with the appointment of five new home-grown partners

Van Doorne is appointing five of its specialists as partners with effect from 1 January 2023

Saskia Laseur, managing partner, comments: “I am proud that four of our lawyers and one notary candidate, all trained in-house, are advancing into the partner group. With this, we are significantly boosting our  services for clients, both now and into the future, in respect of  relevant social and economic topics, such as financing, restructuring and insolvency, labour and employment, pensions, healthcare and life sciences.”

Cara Pronk works in the international labour and employment law practice. She has a particular focus on cross-border matters and flexible labour relations.

Sijbren Kuiper has a focus on the pensions sector and specialises in pension law. He advises and litigates on matters including liabilities, supervisory issues, transactions and outsourcing.
“The pensions practice is a dynamic and challenging practice that suits Van Doorne extremely well. I look forward to continuing and building the relationship with our clients and the pensions sector as a partner and with the fantastic Van Doorne team.”

Jelmer Baukema runs a corporate finance practice. He advises and assists clients in raising or providing financing and with regards to (financial) restructuring. In this work, Jelmer has a particular focus on non-bank lending. “My appointment as a partner in the financing and restructuring practice allows me to expand my particular practice and thus contribute to the continued growth of our firm. I’m looking forward to that immensely.”

Siego Boslooper deals mainly with corporate law in her notarial practice, focussing on the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector. She advises clients on matters including governance aspects and assists them in restructuring processes and other transactions. “I am delighted with this appointment. I look forward to embedding and expanding our collaboration with clients and supporting them with the issues they are likely to face in the days, months and years ahead. The aim is to strengthen our position in the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector even further, focusing on a multi-disciplinary approach. We can see that we are adding value with this.”

Joost Volkers specialises in litigating and advising in the areas of insolvency, financing, property and securities, and restructuring. Joost’s appointment strengthens the firm’s leading position in commercial litigation and Van Doorne’s proposition in restructuring and insolvency matters. “I very much look forward to being able to contribute even more, as a partner, to the firm’s ambition of expanding its existing dispute resolution practice. I will thoroughly enjoy advising our clients to the best of my ability in this new role, and with a passionate team.”
